| STATE OF SHOCK WINS BIG!!! Posted: 2008-03-11 Vancouver, BC – Vancouver rockers State of Shock are likely in a state of shock after winning a total of 3 awards during Canadian Music Week in Toronto last week. The band started off their winning streak on Thursday, March 6th with 2 wins at the 11th Annual Canadian Radio Music Awards (CRMA's). State Of Shock's "Money Honey" scored Best New Group or Solo Artist (Rock) of the Year and Best New Group or Solo Artist (CHR) of the Year categories. State of Shock followed that up with a big win at the 8th Annual Indie Awards on Saturday, March 8th as "Money Honey" pulled in the Astral Media Radio Favorite Single of the Year, beating out such artists as Feist and The Arcade Fire. Hopefully the winning streak will continue to next month for the 2008 Juno Awards where State of Shock are nominated for Best New Group of the Year.
State of Shock have experienced incredible success thus far with their first album on Cordova Bay Records, Life, Love & Lies. Since it's release in June 2007, State of Shock have had a Top Ten single at 3 radio formats (Rock, CHR and Hot AC) with the infectious "Money Honey" and are already seeing their second single "Hearts That Bleed" climbing the Top 10 at Canadian Rock Radio this week and is poised to cross over to other formats. And it doesn't end there. State of Shock has also surpassed platinum status for the digital sales of "Money Honey" with over 55,000 sold to date and the video for "Hearts That Bleed" is currently in high rotation on MUCH MUSIC.
State of Shock just finished a very successful Canadian Tour with Hedley and will be performing in Calgary during JunoFest on April 4th and 5th. They will also be taking part in Juno FanFare and Cam Melnyk and Jesse Wainwright from State of Shock will be playing hockey as
part of The Rockers Team in the 5th Annual Juno Cup hockey game.
| STATE OF SHOCK RECEIVE JUNO AWARD NOMINATION Posted: 2008-02-12 Vancouver, BC – Things just keep getting better and better for State of Shock! The Vancouver rock band was thrilled this week when they found themselves nominated for a 2008 Juno Award in the Best New Group category along with fellow Canadians Dragonette, Faber Drive, Ill Scarlett and Wintersleep. The Juno Award nomination caps off an amazing 2007 for State of Shock and adds to their many other award nominations, including 1 nomination for a 2007 Western Canadian Music Award, 1 nomination for an Indie Music Award and 3 nominations for Canadian Radio Music Awards held the upcoming Canadian Music Week 2008 in Toronto.
